RECAP: LOOKING BACK AT THE SEMESTER

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what I was expecting from this class. I’m sort of tech illiterate, a bit bad with making models still, but I came into this class with the hope that I could get a better understanding of how to make 3D objects.

In that case, I succeeded! I can make things… kind of?

I wanted to highlight the images that I did because these (in my opinion) were the highlights of the semester for me.

The castle, the first thing we ever made in the class- was the first time I had ever made anything digitally in a 3D format. Although the form is crude, I was so excited to see that the
things I was trying to do, and things that I wanted to make, were actually working!

This was the next big moment for me in this class. I didn’t have to make the models myself, but, I got to really explore my concepts and have something that really looked the way it did in my head but as an actual rendered image.

And then finally, our partner project. I went into this super pessimistic because I was scared of holding someone else back with how dumb I am personally. However, Ethan (my partner) was super patient and very great about communicating to make our collaboration work. It really helped to assuage my fears and ended up making it one of my favourite projects that we ended up working on this semester. There was a bit of an issue with our curved edge being too steep so our print didn't work out as cleanly as I had hoped, but it was still a great experience overall!
